The Portuguese capital has many reasons to be visited: a rich cultural heritage, historic neighborhoods, the culture of Fado and, of course, the delicious traditional sweets, Pastéis de Belém.

In Belém, visit the Jerónimos Monastery, one of the most appealing and imposing monuments in the city, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When you visit its church, also in Manueline style, be dazzled by the impressive interior. Don't miss the tombs of illustrious personalities in the history of Portugal such as Vasco da Gama, Luís de Camões and, among others, King Manuel himself.

Next to the Tagus River, you will find the Belém Tower, an emblematic landmark of the Portuguese Discoveries: a fortress for the defense of the Tagus estuary and the starting point of navigators, such as Vasco da Gama to India and Pedro Álvares Cabral to Brazil, connecting Europe to the rest of the world. Next, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, an imposing caravel-shaped monument that highlights important characters linked to the Discoveries and Portugal's glorious past.

Once in the city center, enjoy the beautiful Praça do Comércio, one of the largest European squares once the Royal Palace of Portugal, now home to some Ministries of the Portuguese Government. Here you will also find the oldest café in the city, the famous "Martinho da Arcada", which was usually frequented by the famous Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa.

In Alfama, one of the oldest and most authentic neighborhoods of the city, a place of hidden corners, corners and narrow streets, where it is worth getting lost.
